The wedding was lots of fun too because we got to dance. Since Richard and I shoot weddings, we go to a lot of weddings, but get to participate in very few, especially since we've passed the "lots of weddings" phase with our friends. The dancing made me a bit nostalgic...I first became interested in Richard at our friends', Phillip & Jill's, wedding. I am not a great dancer when it comes to "couples" dancing. I've got okay rhythm for doing the "White Man's Overbite" and stuff like that, but I can't follow a man's lead to save my life. So, even though as a single gal I always wanted to be asked to dance, it also made me a bit nervous. Especially since here in Texas there are lots of guys who are expert two-steppers and some of them take it pretty seriously. So, when Richard asked me to dance, it was a delightful surprise to find that 1)He wasn't that great a dancer either and 2)He couldn't care less and instead, had lots of fun with it. At that point, I was pretty much hooked! :o)
It was so nice because, since Evie is crazy about her grandparents, I wasn't all worried about her; I could just enjoy the weekend. Here was one of my favorite parts of our weekend getaway: WE GOT TO SLEEP IN TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!
Our friend, Trent, took these pictures of us. The first one is our version of "American Gothic."
