First Swim

Now that Evie actually enjoys her baths, I've been very eager to take her to the pool. We've had storms almost every day here lately so I hadn't been able to. We have had blue skies today though so I seized my opportunity. I slathered the pediatrician-approved Aveeno Baby sunscreen on Evie. Mama had given me the bathing suit that I had as a baby, so I put it on her. She started to cry at first because she didn't like the feel of that 1970's polyester against her skin (Who could blame her?!). Later I'll get the pic of me in the same suit and post them side-by-side.
We had the pool all to ourselves. I eased her in and she started to cry when she first felt that cool water on her little legs, but pretty soon she was back to her smiley self. What a cutie! She looks so long to me in the "sunbathing in the shade" picture. I can't believe how much our little girl has grown lately. She is such a delight! Evie said she looks forward to bringing Daddy along with us later on! :o)

How fun! Grace loved the pool last year. Today we took her again for the first time this season (it was an indoor pool, though, and HEATED!). She wasn't too sure about it at first, but then warmed up to it. I look forward to more pool times this summer! :)

I am glad to know that I am not the only sentimental, sappy mom who puts their daughter in the clothes they wore as a baby. Katherine was dedicated in my Christening dress and has worn both my first Easter and first birthday dress. I think I have a few more old dresses in my closet at mom's house.

Don't worry, Hubsley...we won't let you melt. (Going to the pool is not my husband's favorite event).

How cool that you have some of your own clothes to put her in! She looks SO darling! I am quite jealous!

Rich doesn't like the pool? Funny. How cute that she is in your suit, I can't wait to see the pic of you in it. Looking forward to bringing over my boys to pass long summer afternoons at the pool!
