Evie's First Halloween

As I mentioned in a previous post, we have all been sick. It passed from Richard, to Evie, then to me. Richard had in fact been fighting a cold for about 3 1/2 weeks so my aunt Donna (a doctor) ordered him to do nothing but rest for 2 full days. Halloween was the 2nd of those 2 days. So, we decided to forego the Fall Fun Festival at our church and instead we took Evie to see Becky and Mrs. Harrison (maker of the famous bunny that sits with Evie every month) and Grandmama and Granddaddy.

Evie was a chicken for Halloween. For some reason chickens have always made me laugh. Even the word chicken makes me laugh. (I'm weird, I know) So, it seemed appropriate.

Thanks to Mama & Dad for the great backdrop for Evie's Halloween photos!!

Painting Evie's "beak" which didn't last the night. Notice the unmade bed. So, Dr. Donna, Richard obeyed doctor's orders for most of the two days!

We wondered why Evie was so quiet that night. It ended up she was coming down with a cold. I think you can see it in her eyes here. Poor little chicken!! :o(
